Terms & Conditions
Welcome to JHD Counselling. These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of our website, training platforms, and educational services. By enrolling in our training courses or purchasing our educational materials, you accept these terms in full.
This platform and training service are operated by Cheryl Pinner (trading as JHD Counselling), located at 10 Crown Street, St Ives, Cambridgeshire.
1. Scope of Training Services
- JHD Counselling provides professional development, courses, and educational training tailored for counsellors, therapists, and professionals.
- Enrolment in or completion of our training courses does not guarantee academic success, professional accreditation, or employment, unless explicitly specified in the course description.
- It is the student’s responsibility to verify that our courses meet the continuing professional development (CPD) or qualification requirements of their respective professional membership bodies (e.g., BACP, NCPS).
2. Registrations, Course Access, and Fees
- Account Creation: To access our training via our digital platforms, you must create a student account. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details.
- Course Access: Upon successful payment or enrolment confirmation, you are granted a limited, non-transferable, revocable license to access the course materials for your personal professional development. Sharing account access with third parties is strictly prohibited.
- Fees and Payment: All course fees are clearly stated at the point of purchase. Payments must be processed securely through our approved, PCI-compliant payment gateways before access to digital training materials is granted.
3. Cancellations, Refunds, and Digital Goods Policy
As a provider of digital educational content and scheduled training events, we operate under strict UK consumer guidelines:
- Digital Learning Content: In accordance with UK consumer law, once you have streamed, downloaded, or logged into the digital portal to access online course materials, you explicitly agree that you waive your standard 14-day statutory right to a refund.
- Scheduled Workshops & Live Events: For live training events or interactive workshops, cancellations made by the student within [Insert Notice Period, e.g., 14 days] of the event start date may not be eligible for a refund, as places are strictly limited.
- Course Cancellations by Us: In the rare event that JHD Counselling must cancel a live training workshop, a full refund of the ticket price or an alternative training date will be offered. We are not liable for any secondary travel or accommodation costs incurred.
4. Intellectual Property Rights
- All training materials, including but not limited to videos, audio, presentation slides, workbooks, PDFs, text, and graphics provided within our courses, are the strict intellectual property of JHD Counselling and its licensors.
- You may use these materials solely for your own personal educational development. You must not copy, reproduce, resell, redistribute, or publicly display any of our training content without our express written permission.
5. Professional Conduct and Boundaries
- We expect all students and training participants to maintain a high level of professional and ethical conduct during interactive sessions, webinars, and discussion forums.
- We reserve the right to terminate a student's access to our training platform immediately, without a refund, if they display abusive, discriminatory, or highly disruptive behaviour toward trainers or fellow students.
6. Limitation of Liability
- JHD Counselling works to the highest professional standards to ensure training content is accurate and up to date. However, to the maximum extent permitted by UK law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from reliance on information taught within our courses, or a student's individual application of that training in their own clinical practice.
7. Governing Law
- These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes relating to these training terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
These terms were last updated in June 2026.
