Couple counselling provides the opportunity for a person to discuss issues of concern/problems to their loved one with the guidance and support of a third and neutral party. It is the counsellor’s job to ensure that both parties are listened too and treated equally.

JHD’s counselling expands to groups as well as 1-2-1 and couple counselling. Support groups operate for clients experiencing concerns in any of the following areas: anxiety, bereavement, body image and low self-esteem, depression, eating disorders, grief and loss, mental health disorders, sexuality (gay and lesbian), stress and self-harm.
Sessions take place once a week, usually at the same time each week, and last for 2 hours.
In the first session, the counsellor leading the group with explain the nature of confidentiality and draw up a group contract for all clients’ to adhere too.
We can also offer support groups to staff in the workplace providing the opportunity for colleagues and employers/employees to offload and share their concerns.
When working with couples and families, there tends to be a degree of mediation/facilitation take place as both/all parties are provided with the opportunity to talk freely and describe their feelings. The mediation and facilitation service can extend to anyone struggling within a relationship with another person – for example, friend, neighbour, work colleague, employer/employee.
